It is open to the public - no fees. It is a glorious festival of ice and snow beginning alongside the Winter Festival of Lights.
Red Bull Crashed Ice Details
The free public event, taking place December 1st, 2012, near this Niagara Falls, Ontario hotel, kicks off a world tour that will continue on to the United States of America, European Russia, and Switzerland. Ice and extreme sports meet this winter when the Red Bull Crashed Ice Event comes to Niagara Falls. Sixty-four amateur male athletes from around the globe, wearing hockey skates, will compete in a downhill race on an ice track for the change to bring home the title of Red Bull Crashed Ice Champion.
Red Bull has been making a name for itself in extreme sports. Niagara has been an extreme sports hot-spot starting in the 1990s with skate parks and quickly transitioning to BMX sports, Ice Sports, and Sky Diving. The combination is something to get excited about and represents a global will to embrace the sports that people from Niagara have been dreaming up for years.
